STUFF, 2014

Directors: Maxim Afanasyev, Mykola Homanyuk

Playwrights: Elena Astasyeva, Natalia Blok, Alexander Zyryanov

Nina gets a job in a supermarket. She performs her duties diligently, trying to maintain communication in the team, although she has different interests in life. Nina is a little strange from other cashiers' point of view. Such attitude makes her a target for ridicule at first, and then the victim of this harassment, in which her boss is involved, too. The story had a happy end – Nina’s colleagues set her up again, and she said the boss her say.

The main action reveals parallel stories of bulling those who now bullies Nina. They, too, turned out to have a similar experience – some are in kindergarten, others are in school, the rest suffered domestic violence, because “life is arranged such a way that either you are bullying, or you are bullied”.

The play was created under support of the UNDP and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark.

The play “Stuff” (playwright is Olena Astasyeva) in 2014 was distinguished by the jury of the Lyubimovka Festival of Young Playwrights (Moscow).
