On February 24, 2022, Russian troops crossed the border of Ukraine. A large-scale invasion began. In the Kherson region, fighting was going on for several days. On March 1, the russian occupying forces entered Kherson.

February 26, 2022 in the Kherson region near Tyagin, the occupiers shot an ambulance car, killing two people. 64-year-old ambulance driver and an injured person, who was taken to the hospital by medics, were burned alive. 42-year-old paramedic was injured.

April 15, 2022. In the village of Tyaginka, the russian military captured a local inhabitant, a former Ukrainain military. They tied him with rope to an armored personnel carrier and dragged him down the street in front of his children. After that, they were killed this man by hanging on the same rope.

May 2022. The occupiers are looting museums and private collections in the Kherson region, taking the stolen artifacts to the occupied Crimea. Russian military conducts targeted raids on the homes of local historians, collectors, and antique shops. Everything of even the slightest artistic or historical value is forcibly taken away, even the collections of educational institutions. Information about the collections and thier value occupants are getting from the so-called "civilian experts" (collaborators).

According to witnesses, the representatives of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, who were involved in these raids and looting, do not look like ordinary military personnel. They are equipped with Western-style clothes and travel in Toyota SUVs. However, they have russian-made weapons.

Culture property was taken to the occupied Crimea by small trucks accompanied by SUVs, sometimes accompanied by the "Tiger" BBM.
