COUNTERmyth
We wanted to support those Ukrainian artists, who stay in Ukraine during the war. We decided to support them with financing of their art-projects on landart and environmental art created during the wartime.

We formulated the theme for the artworks as COUNTER-myth.
With bated breath, we follow the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine every day. The same should happen on the cultural and artistic front. We invited artists to think about how we can destroy existing myths and which new ones we want to create. We can talk about global myths – for example, the myth about Ukrainian culture (that it is personified by women in wreaths and that it is suffering from post-colonial syndrome), or we can turn to local myths and history, creating a new artistic vision of the contexts of the past and future.
Environmental art is closely related to architecture, sculpture, fine arts, graphics, photography, video and performing arts, so we offered free choice of material and locations for the authors.
Because of phisical danger and constant shelling, we invited artists to create and exhibit their artwork in any environment (from their own apartment to public spaces or natural landscapes). The intimacy of the creative process of landart/ environmental art allowed us to protect the authors as much as possible. The artists could interact with the chosen environment not publicly, in the safe and comfortable way for them. Their artworks reach the viewer/audience through documentation.
The result exceeded all expectations.
