The Nemyriv settlement is an archeological monument, the age of which is more than 4000 years old. In fact, the area can be called a kind of fort used by different peoples at different times to protect against invading raids. There are many different stories and myths related with this area. One of the most interesting is the myth about the king of the Goths, Ermanric. This myth is strangely similar to the story that happened to Prince Igor, descendant of Rurik, but 400 years later in the town of Iskorosten. We can also hear legends with a similar plot in other regions and countries. All of them tell stories that hypothetically took place in the times when the active formation of the future Europe with its modern borders and values was bubbling in the cauldron of the Middle Ages. This leads to the opinion (or even a hypothesis) that it was not information about real events that reached our time through the myth, but a fictional instructive story that defined the physical border lines as well as the borders of morality and ethical actions for the ruling elites of that time.
