Power place

landart

Julia Baluda, Ukraine

A very feminine work that was born under the impression of nature and the area.

Artist says: "I was looking for a location for my artwork. At first I tried to make something like a tapestry from the grass under the hill, but something was wrong. Then I went up to the plateau of the Tyagin settlement, I saw the grass and lay down in it... And I felt that this is a Place of Power. Moreover, it is a place of female power. Grass is like hair, and long female hair is an eternal symbol of women power. I decided to braid this grass..."

During the presentation, the landart turned into a happening, because the audience wanted to join in the weaving process.
