The focus of the art residence is 3 locations:

  • Watchtower (Vytautas Tower, XV-XIX centuries), a monument of national importance;

  • Tyagin archeological site and fortress, a monument of national importance (XIV-XVII centuries, a place connected with the history of the Ukrainian Cossacks, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the Crimean Kaganate);

  • The city of Kherson, the art collection of the Baltic countries in the art museum.

3 cultures: Ukrainian, Lithuanian, Crimean Tatar

3 hashtags: #multiculturalism #heritage #nature

Three dots ( … ) is an unfinished sentence, the possibility of continuation, openness to the future.

The idea of the art residency is to bring a new artistic vision of the common historical and cultural heritage of Ukraine and Lithuania, to fill the heritage with life and energy of contemporary art.

The residency is based on our desire to strengthen dialogue between Ukrainian and foreign artists, to build new cultural ties between Ukraine and Europe.

In 2021, 6 artists participated the art residency in Tyagin: Iryna Troma and Egle Maskaliunaite from Lithuania, Oleksandr Nikituk, Kostyantyn Alenynsky, Yulia Baluda, Oleksandr Tanasiuk from Ukraine.

The art residency was supported by the European Union under the House of Europe program.
