Phantom

Authors:Margarita Zhurunova / Bohdan Lokatyr, Ukraine

Artist statement:

This installation was inspired by the history of the place where it is located.

This is the story of a ghost town that almost doesn't exist today, because it was wiped out in World War II, sandwiched between opposing positions.

Today Ukrainians perceive these stories about the Second World War II quite differently. They became much more painful because they are repeating in Ukraine right now, in our home. At this very moment, another town in Ukraine is turning into a ghost.

This installation is a sign of sadness, a sign of horror.
